- The Ethereum Foundation wants to address the blockchain’s scaling challenges
- It also wants to improve the network’s user experience
- Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin recently suggested improving privacy on the blockchain
Tomasz Stańczak, an Ethereum Foundation director, has revealed that the foundation is shifting its focus to improving the network’s scaling. The foundation will also concentrate its energy on improving the network’s user experience, with Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin also suggesting increasing the privacy of transactions on the blockchain. Stańczak’s revelations come when most Ethereum users are either ditching the layer one for scaling layers or migrating to another chain entirely, indicating that the foundation wants to make Ethereum appealing again.
Meme coin Addressing Near-Term Challenges
In an X post, Stańczak said the foundation will concentrate on current and near-term challenges affecting layer-1 scaling and the user experience. He added that EF will also support layer 2 scaling efforts “in the Pectra, Fusaka, and Glamsterdam upgrades.”
Our discussions about the Layer 1 scaling roadmap have been extensive, and the feedback so far suggests that the community appreciates our ambition. Turning that ambition into reality now depends on the focus of the core development teams and researchers.

He also disclosed that the foundation is looking to incubate and birth projects that “look three to five years away” through initiatives like consensus layers and next-gen execution. According to Stańczak, the move is meant to give Buterin more time to research and explore instead of handling “day-to-day coordination or crisis response.”
The crypto community has embraced Stańczak’s views with some saying that the “direct engagement, clarity, and communication is already a huge moral boost.” Others encouraged the Ethereum Foundation co-executive director to “keep engaging, communicating, and setting a clear direction and vision for the future.”
Meme coin Buterin Proposes Performance Boost
The foundation’s plan to address scaling and user experience challenges comes shortly after Buterin proposed boosting Ethereum’s performance by ditching the language used by Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) contracts.
It also comes two months after the Ethereum Foundation officially announced a new leadership and structure. The EF said the new structure is intended to strengthen the bond between the foundation and the Ethereum community.
With the Ethereum Foundation planning to enhance Ethereum’s scaling and user experience, it remains to be seen whether this move will prevent projects from abandoning Ethereum for Solana and other chains.
